Are Moles Dangerous?

Moles on a human body appear under the ultraviolet influence of sun rays. There are places on our skin where there is more pigment melanin (this factor is determined by genetic), than in the other parts of body and these places, influenced by sun, get covered with light stains that later become darker and shaped. Melanin helps to protect our skin from sun’s aggressive influence. Still the moles can transform into malignant tumor, that’s why people with big amount of moles should be careful with sun.
Usually the moles are not dangerous, all people have them. Still they can bring some inconveniences, for example to be constantly traumatized by your clothes and jewelry or be an obstacle while shaving. The traumas of the moles can provoke the malignant changes in them, that is why you should be careful and try not to damage them. But if the mole is situated on the place where it is getting constantly rubbed, scratched or there is a risk of its trauma, perhaps it is better to think about its removal.
Very often people want to remove moles because of the esthetic reasons. If you decide to do it, remember that mole removal on any circumstances mustn’t ne performed at home, only in a good clinic by a well-qualified doctor. Firstly the oncologist must examine the mole and say whether it isn’t dangerous to remove it. In any case moles mustn’t get damaged on purpose of removal! If it happened so that the mole was damaged, it’s necessary to visit doctor to make sure everything’s all right.

Also it is necessary to be attentive to the state of mole even if it does not bother you in any way. Any changes in it, like change of size, color, structure or inflammation without any reason mean that something is going wrong and the visit to oncologist is obligatory. It can be the sign of the skin cancer. Remember that the earlier cancer is diagnosed the more chances on successful treatment the patient has. Skin cancer is one of the cancer types that has good statistics of successful recovery, if the measures are taken in time.
